As a former electrician onboard oil tankers realised that having a good and reliable internet connection was an important aspect both professionally and personally. Professionally because I needed to search for documentation and sometimes download loads of technical data sheets for various equipment onboard. It is a data only SIM card that allows crew members to have a good internet connection whenever they are in ports, in transit of canals or straits and when they navigate along the coast. Once it is set up it will automatically connect whenever there is mobile reception.
We have two main options that may be suitable for you and your crew.
- Individual SIM cards for each crew member. They are in charge of their spending, topping up and usage.
- Corporate Mobile Data Connection Service: SIM card and user management via a web portal. You will be in charge of spending, assigning credit and usage.
